The Swedish fur trade dates back to the 16th century when King Gustav Wasa supplied the Royal Courts of Europe with the most beautiful fur coats. Our own experience dates back almost 100 years. Stefan Wilhelmsson, managing director, represents the 3rd generation at Skinnwille and now also the 4th generation are working in the company.
Today Skinnwille is one of the leading fur manufacturers in Scandinavia.
The collections we are producing are influenced by the latest fashion, design and manufacturing techniques. In order to control the quality we buy the skins direct from the original source.
A fur coat is still made by hand, as our ancestors did thousands of years ago. The skins have to be dressed and matched according to colour and shape. Every step must follow a complex pattern in order to achieve the angles and curves required for the sleeves, shoulders and collar to fit perfectly.
A fur coat is a piece of art. It requires superb craftsmanship, a trained eye to match the skins and a feeling for good design. It takes many years to develop these qualities. Here at Skinnwille we have been honing our experience since 1922. We know what we are talking about.
